Description |
This two-day course will cover a range of skills required for portaging in areas exposed to high angles and on precarious ground and rescuing and extracting people and equipment where height is involved. This includes ascending and descending with and without kayaks. It will also cover a range of general rope-work, anchors and knots which will be a great refresher for alumni of our Swiftwater Rescue Course.Abseiling takes place on angled ground using rope, harnesses, anchoring devices and boats, and does not require being on the water. This course is not designed to replace formal abseil instruction but is an adaptation for the river environment. |
