Blyde and Sabie river: Grades 3/4
Friday – Depart after work; arrive and camp near Hoedspruit; gear up.
Saturday – Put in at the Blyde picnic site; spend the whole day on the river; take-out at Blydepoort dam.
Sunday – We will choose one of the 4 sections of the Sabie, or possibly Mac-Mac, to run; depending on water levels. Take out in the afternoon. Depart at own leisure.
Provide or hire your own kayak, croc (with flotation bags), paddle, spraydeck, life jacket and helmet.
NB: – Equipment that is not up to standard will not be allowed!
We will have equipment for hire at R250.00 for both days. If you need advice on what kind of equipment to purchase, or want to buy any kind of gear, please let us know ahead of time so that we can bring it along.
What to bring
Personal camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, eating and cooking utensils, etc); snacks and beverages including drinking water; river gear and boat; camera, torch, sunblock and clothes.
Bring a windjacket/windbreaker, fleece and/or semi-dry top
If you need advice on what kind of equipment to purchase, or if you want to buy any kind of gear, please let us know ahead of time so that we can bring it along.
Please remember that you need to get all your own gear down the river – so pack sensibly.
The Blyde expedition is usually held on the last weeekend in Febuary.
The Sabie expedition is usually held on the last weeekend in March.

What you pay us
R650 p/p if you feed the instructor/s.
This fee includes camping, permits, access, guiding and instruction. You may be required to help with shuttles. Only campsite fees are included; other accommodation is available at additional cost
Payment will confirm your booking.
Places on this trip are allocated on a first-paid-gets-in basis, as there is limited space available!
