Strokes are the basis for all types of river running: flat water, play boating, surfing, recreational or creeking. Few people in South Africa have done more than a fundamental beginner’s course and if you want to take kayaking seriously, then you need to work on perfecting your strokes

The two-day Strokes Clinic is designed to give you a better understanding of your body, paddle position and movement. It will help you to use correct strokes as a regular part of you paddling repertoire. At this clinic, you will learn the 12-minute warm-up (which you should use to start every paddling session), as well as all the strokes.

Strokes Covered:

  • Front Stroke
    Back Stroke
    F/B Sweep
    Gliding Draw
Using a gliding draw to cross eddie lines
And a warm-up and stretching sequence.
