Upon satisfactory completion of an oral examination and practical skills evaluation, certificates will be forwarded to the client. Please note that this certificate is valid for three years.

In order to improve the success rate for this course, a Bridging Course can be organised before the level 1 First Aid Course. This is recommended for people who are not proficient in English and does not have knowledge of basic Biology.

“In-house” first aid courses can also be organised at a client’s / operator’s venue, at a seperate costing for the entire course, depending on candidate numbers. Please enquire.

This Level One:

Human Emergency Life Program has been adapted for guiding and one of the days will be a practical day in the field. The candidates will need their own equipment. The client will be responsible for all transport to and from the place where the practical will take place.

’In-house’ first aid courses can also be organised at a clients/operators venue at a separate costing for the entire course, depending on candidate numbers. Please enquire.

Recommended reading for River Guides is: White Water Safety and Rescue by Franco Ferrero.
Part One, Chapter 11- Leadership
Part Two, Chapter 19- Incident Management
Part Three- Care of Victims
